"Spa Experience for me is largely environmental - I wanted to be treated like royalty in tasteful (read: pricey) surroundings. Brightly lit, no frills Jeniette hardly seemed up to the Total Indulgence Pedicure ($42) I was there to try.

Sure, my pedicurist, Jessica, was pleasant and efficient in her attention to my sore, neglected feet. But on that particularly stormy, cabless day, I'd already been forced to cross Midtown on foot four times, and no ordinary soak-and-polish was going to undo the damage.

After a warn foot-bath of oil and milk, a salt scrub and a vigorous leg massage, I started to prepare myself for the trek back to the office. That's when something unexpected happened: Jessica kept going. She applied a mask, then another scrub followed by a second massage, then lotion, then another massage. By the end, I was a puddle of gratitude. Like all-you-can-eat pancakes at IHOP, the Total Indulgence Pedicure isn't fancy, but it is very satisfying."
